ABOUT OUR STEWARDSHIP STRUCTURE

Ways We Steward the Land

Just Love Forest is held through several expressions, each serving a different role in the life of the land.

The forest itself is privately owned and protected under long-term conservation, stewarded with the intention that it remain a place of refuge, reverence, and ecological care for generations to come. Stewardship of the land includes practices that support restoration and renewal, such as conservation forestry, habitat regeneration, and a small green burial sanctuary designed to return the human body to the earth in a way that nourishes the soil and supports the forest’s long-term health.

At its heart is Just Love Forest Ashram, a religious community rooted in daily prayer, devotion, and service, held in the lineage of Neem Karoli Baba. The ashram exists for worship, spiritual life, and communal practice, welcoming people of all backgrounds without requirement of belief or conversion.

Alongside this spiritual life, Just Love Forest LLC offers retreats, educational programs, and nature-based experiences that support accessibility, sustainability, and care for the land. These offerings are distinct from the ashram’s religious life and are operated separately, allowing the forest to remain both spiritually grounded and practically supported.

In time, a nonprofit land trust will be established to further protect this land beyond any single lifetime. Until then, stewardship is guided by conservation ethics, spiritual values, and a commitment to humility before the living world.

Together, these expressions form one living place - a forest held not to be consumed, but to be tended, remembered, and shared.

“We do not inherit the land from our ancestors; we borrow it from the future, and our task is to return it whole.”

- Bala, Founding Steward, Just Love Forest
