Forest Bathing (No Bathtub Required)

Despite the name, forest bathing does not involve a literal bathtub hidden in the woods. No towels, no soap, and no plumbing required. “Bathing” refers to immersing your senses in the atmosphere of the forest by breathing it in, slowing down, and allowing nature to support your wellbeing.

Forest bathing, also known as forest therapy or Shinrin-yoku, is a gentle, guided practice that invites you to move slowly through the forest while engaging your senses of sight, sound, touch, smell, and breath. There is no hiking pace, no fitness goal, and no pressure to perform. The intention is simple: to let the forest meet you where you are.

A Nature-Based Reset from Atlanta Life

For many people living in Atlanta, daily life keeps the nervous system in a constant state of activation. Traffic, schedules, screens, and noise quietly accumulate in the body, even when we don’t notice it.

Just Love Forest is located just an hour and a half from Atlanta, making a day of forest bathing both accessible and deeply restorative. As you spend time in the forest, breathing naturally and moving slowly, stress levels often begin to soften. Mental chatter quiets. The body remembers how to settle.

Rather than escaping city life, forest bathing helps you return to it with greater balance, resilience, and clarity.

What to Expect at Just Love Forest

Your forest bathing experience begins with a welcoming circle and a cup of rose tea, offering time to arrive and learn about the history of the land and the lineage of the practice.

You will then be guided through approximately three hours of nature therapy invitations designed to support relaxation, sensory awareness, and connection. These invitations are gentle, accessible, and suitable for all ages and physical abilities.

A nourishing plant-based, organic lunch is included, thoughtfully sourced from the gardens of Just Love Forest whenever possible.

The Health Benefits of Forest Bathing

Research shows that forest bathing can help reduce stress, lower blood pressure, support immune function, and improve overall mood and wellbeing. Many participants also report improved sleep, a greater sense of calm, and a deeper connection to themselves and the natural world.

No prior experience is necessary. Forest bathing is about presence, not expertise.

This experience is designed for all ages. If you plan to attend with children under the age of 13, please inquire in advance by emailing bala@justloveforest.com so we can ensure the experience is supportive for everyone.

“Not just beautiful, though — the stars are like the trees in the forest, alive and breathing. And they’re watching me.”
