Steward Community Membership Agreement
Welcome to Just Love, a community devoted to nurturing the soul through nature, meditation, earth-building, and connection. This agreement outlines the terms of membership, including benefits, rules, and responsibilities, to ensure a harmonious and enriching experience for all members and their guests.
Membership Terms and Conditions
1. Membership Start Date
Memberships operate on a flexible, rolling 30-day basis beginning the day your first recurring monthly payment is processed. This ensures you’re always in control of your membership duration, with easy tracking of renewal dates.
2. Community Retreats
From February to December, members are invited to monthly community retreats that blend relaxation, connection, and earth stewardship.
- A flat rate of $50 + tax per member covers the full Friday–Sunday retreat.
- Alternatively, members can join individual events (meditation, drum circle, or forest therapy) for $50 + tax each, allowing for a personalized weekend experience.
3. Experience the Joy of the Forest with Friends
As a member, you may share the forest with up to two guests at a time—perfect for day trips or immersive overnights. Guest access is available on select weekends and most Mondays through Thursdays, outside of scheduled retreats. Discounted rates for your guests help keep this experience accessible and aligned with our values.
Guest Visit Options (all prices per person, plus tax):
- Day Adventure – $25 per day
Ideal for day-use visits to walk the land, rest, picnic, or explore.
- Self-Guided Camping – $25 per night
Enjoy an authentic nature experience with your own gear. Includes day access.
- Glamping – $50 per night
Stay in one of our canvas bell tents with plush mattresses for added comfort.
- Optional Sheet & Towel Service: $25 extra per tent. This means that the bed will be made with sheets before arriving and a towel will be offered. Upon leaving, we will remove the sheets and towel and launder them.
All guests must be registered in advance to maintain a peaceful and safe environment for all.
4. Discounts on Specialty Retreats
Members receive 25% off up to two specialty retreats annually, with two member-only spots held for each retreat on a first-come, first-served basis. You must email bala@justloveforest.com to inquire if there is space available before booking. This doesn’t apply to private retreats not listed on the website.
5. Hosting Personal Gatherings & Private Retreats
Members may host their own gatherings in the forest during non-retreat weekends or weekdays.
- Rates: $100 per person per night + tax, or $50 per person for day-only gatherings.
- All gatherings require prior approval and must align with community values.
- Members are responsible for providing food and for full cleanup upon departure.
Rules and Responsibilities
1. Conduct
Members and their guests must act with respect for nature, for others, and for the shared values of the community.
2. Environmental Stewardship
All activities should honor and protect the land. Members are expected to follow Leave No Trace principles when camping outside of basecamp. All trash and belongings should be removed from the property with you upon exit. Fires are only permitted within predesignated fire circles unless advance permission is requested and given.
3. Safety and Liability
- Participation in activities is at your own risk. Just Love is not liable for injuries or property loss.
- Members must ensure all guests register in advance and sign liability waivers.
- If a guest is not registered, the member assumes full legal and financial responsibility for that individual while on site.
4. Activity Participation
All participants must follow activity guidelines and instructions to ensure safety and uphold the integrity of the experience.
5. Hosting Guidelines
Member-hosted events must reflect the spirit and intention of Just Love. These gatherings are private and may not be publicly advertised. Prior approval is required to protect the sanctity of the space.
6. Reservation Requirement Clause
To maintain the peace and balance of Just Love Forest, all visits must be scheduled in advance through our reservation system.
- Unscheduled visits may result in the cancellation of membership.
- This policy helps preserve the sanctuary of the land and ensures a smooth experience for all members and guests.
Your reservation is more than a plan—it’s your contribution to the shared story and serenity of Just Love Forest.
7. Guest Responsibility & Alignment Clause
Members are stewards of this sacred space and are expected to extend that care to the guests they bring.
- All guests must be registered and must sign the Community Wellbeing Agreement as part of the online registration process.
- Guests who do not abide by our guidelines will be asked to leave without refund.
- Severe violations—such as bringing unregistered guests—may result in the cancellation of the hosting member’s membership, also without refund.
This policy protects the community's integrity, tranquility, and shared connection with the land.
8. Membership Cancellation Policy
You may cancel your membership at any time with no penalty.
- To cancel, simply email bala@justloveforest.com, letting us know if you’d like the cancellation to take effect immediately or at a future date.
- We do not offer mid-month or partial refunds, but your membership will remain active and accessible for 30 days after your final payment, as long as your account is in good standing.
Liability Waiver
By accepting membership, you waive all claims against Just Love for injury, loss, or damage arising from participation or use of facilities.
Indemnity Clause
Members agree to indemnify and hold harmless Just Love, its staff, and volunteers from liabilities stemming from their actions or those of their guests.
Membership Terms Update Clause
To remain responsive to the needs of our land and community, Just Love reserves the right to update or modify membership terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated via email to all active members in good standing. We encourage members to review updates to stay aligned with the evolving nature of our shared agreements.
Membership Flexibility Clause
Like the forest itself, our community evolves and adapts. We reserve the right to cancel a membership at any time, with or without cause, in order to preserve the harmony and health of our shared space. Should this occur, we promise to communicate openly and respectfully.
This agreement is intended to cultivate a respectful, connected, and supportive community rooted in love for nature, personal growth, and collective well-being. Thank you for your commitment—we’re grateful to walk this journey with you.
Setting up your monthly contribution
After agreeing to these terms, you’ll be taken to Stripe to set up your monthly payment. Your membership is only active once you’ve agreed to the terms below and received a receipt from Stripe.
